Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, the testing for infectious diseases has increased many fold
and this has led to an exponential surge in R&D and manufacturing of In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) in India.
To ensure the quality of IVD, it is important to have a robust validation process so that indigenous kits are
at par with the internationally available IVD. To strengthen the ecosystem of IVD validation in the country,
ICMR has initiated a program to validate indigenously developed IVD in a fair and transparent way while
following rigorous scientific protocols. This small step will go a long way in ensuring the quality of
indigenously developed IVD.
